Job summary

Entegee seeks a Mechanical Engineer focused on UAV systems. You will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies, create CAD models, and support the full product development cycle from concept to field use.

You will work hands-on with UAV hardware, analyze designs for manufacturability and performance, and collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve issues. Relevant CAD skills and a passion for drones are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years in product development, manufacturing, aerospace, robotics, UAVs, or related.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling; SolidWorks preferred; other CAD platforms acceptable.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Willingness to work hands-on with UAV hardware and drones in projects.

Job description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a passion for engineering, hands‑on problem solving, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys designing and building things—not someone looking for a role that is entirely behind a desk.

The Mechanical Engineer will support the design, development, integration, testing, and improvement of UAV systems and components. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and technical teams and will have opportunities to take projects from CAD and design concepts through fabrication, assembly, testing, and field use.

Candidates who have built, flown, modified, repaired, or experimented with drones in their spare time are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for UAV platforms.


• Create and modify 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation.


• Use SolidWorks to develop designs and support engineering changes.


• Participate in the full product development cycle, from concept and prototyping through fabrication, assembly, testing, and integration.


• Work hands‑on with UAV hardware, including assembly, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and modification of components and systems.


• Assist with the fabrication and evaluation of prototypes and engineering solutions.


• Analyze mechanical designs for functionality, manufacturability, reliability, weight, and performance.


• Work with engineers, technicians, suppliers, and other team members to resolve technical issues.


• Support testing and evaluation of UAV systems and components and document results.


• Identify opportunities to improve existing designs, processes, and products.


• Assist with project planning, task coordination, schedules, and engineering deliverables.


• Troubleshoot mechanical and system‑level issues and develop practical solutions.


• Support field activities, flight testing, demonstrations, and other hands‑on engineering activities as needed.


• Maintain engineering documentation and communicate design status, issues, and recommendations to the team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related mechanical engineering discipline.


• 2–5 years of mechanical engineering experience in product development, manufacturing, aerospace, robotics, UAVs, or a related field.


• Recent college graduates with relevant engineering projects, senior design experience, internships, or project management experience will also be considered.


• Experience with 3D CAD modeling and mechanical design.


• SolidWorks experience preferred. Candidates with experience in other CAD platforms will also be considered.


• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand how components and systems work together.


• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.


• Ability and willingness to work hands‑on with hardware on a regular basis.


• Genuine interest in drones, UAVs, robotics, aerospace, or related technology.


• Personal experience with drones is strongly preferred. Candidates who have built, flown, modified, repaired, or otherwise experimented with drones in their spare time are particularly encouraged to apply.


• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical documentation.
