Job summary

Entegee is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, build, and test electrical systems for UAV platforms, with hands-on hardware involvement throughout development. You will support design, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and field use, collaborating with mechanical and other engineering teams to move concepts from schematics to assembly and flight testing.

Job description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong hands‑on skills and an interest in designing, building, and testing electrical systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working with both electrical designs and physical hardware and wants to be involved throughout the development process.

The Electrical Engineer will support the design, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and improvement of electrical systems used in UAV platforms and related equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with mechanical and other engineering teams and will have the opportunity to take designs from concept and schematics through assembly, testing, and field use.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test electrical systems and components for UAV platforms.
• Design and troubleshoot AC/DC conversion systems, power supplies, and power distribution systems.
• Work with motors, wiring, connectors, cables, and electrical harnesses.
• Create, review, and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
• Develop and document electrical architectures and interconnects for UAV systems.
• Select appropriate electrical components based on system requirements, performance, reliability, weight, and environmental considerations.
• Build, wire, modify, and troubleshoot electrical assemblies and prototypes.
• Perform hands‑on testing, measurement, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults and develop practical solutions to system‑level problems.
• Work closely with mechanical engineers and other technical team members to integrate electrical systems into UAV structures and assemblies.
• Support prototype development, system integration, ground testing, and flight testing.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of electrical harnesses and wiring assemblies.
• Review electrical designs for manufacturability, serviceability, safety, and reliability.
• Assist with project planning, task coordination, schedules, and engineering deliverables.
• Document test results, design changes, troubleshooting activities, and engineering decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve electrical system performance, reliability, and overall UAV design.
• Support field activities, demonstrations, and other hands‑on engineering activities as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related electrical engineering discipline.
• 2–5 years of electrical engineering experience in aerospace, UAVs, robotics, automotive, manufacturing, product development, or a related field.
• Recent college graduates with relevant engineering projects, senior design experience, internships, or project management experience will also be considered.
• Working knowledge of AC/DC conversion and power supplies.
• Experience or knowledge of electric motors and motor control.
• Experience working with wiring, connectors, cables, and electrical harnesses.
• Ability to read, create, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong understanding of basic electrical engineering principles and electrical system integration.
• Circuit design and circuitry knowledge strongly preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work hands‑on with electrical hardware on a regular basis.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
