Job summary

GH Engage is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing team focused on ultra-high-end residential projects along the East Coast. You will contribute to HVAC system design from concept through construction, collaborating with architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure performance and integration with architectural intent.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in HVAC design and field coordination, proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD, and experience with load calculations and equipment selection

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for luxury residential projects.
• Conduct on-site surveys to document existing conditions.
• Develop load calculations, system layouts, equipment selections, riser diagrams, and detailed drawings.
• Prepare reports, specifications, and design narratives.
• Coordinate designs with architects and consultants to ensure integrated solutions.
• Review submittals, evaluate field installations, and participate in site observations.

specializing in ultra-high-end residential projects in the New York City region, with recent growth along the East Coast from New England to Florida.

Collaborating with top-tier architects and design teams, we deliver custom

home designs that meet demanding performance, aesthetic, and acoustic standards.

They are a 20-person firm in a growth phase who are professional and collaborative, but still casual and close-knit.

Position Overview

Seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing team. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in HVAC system design and enjoys taking part in the full project lifecycle from concept through construction and close-out. You'll work directly with architects, contractors, and consultants

The projects this company focus on are some of the most unique and technically challenging private residences in the country. This role combines design excellence, field experience, and collaboration across disciplines to deliver systems that perform beautifully and integrate

seamlessly with architectural intent.

Key Responsibilities

• Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for luxury residential projects.
• Conduct on-site surveys to document existing conditions.
• Develop load calculations, system layouts, equipment selections, riser diagrams, and detailed drawings.
• Prepare reports, specifications, and design narratives.
• Coordinate designs with architects and consultants to ensure integrated solutions.
• Review submittals, evaluate field installations, and participate in site observations.
• Approximately 15-20% field time expected.

Rough Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of HVAC design and field coordination experience in residential, commercial, retail, or institutional projects (Experience in any Building type is transferrable here)

Core Skills

• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, or similar load calculation software.
• Strong understanding of load calculations, equipment selection, duct and pipe sizing, controls strategy, and documentation.
• Familiarity with geothermal, chilled water, VRF, and high-performance HVAC systems.
• Working knowledge of international mechanical codes; NYC code experience a plus.
