Job summary

First Point Group seeks a Mechanical Superintendent - Filed Engineer for the Thacker Pass Lithium Project in Nevada. Lead field execution for heavy-industrial construction, supervise union craft professionals, and coordinate with engineering, construction, and quality teams to align with drawings, specifications, schedule, and budget.

This full-time, site-based role requires 8–10 years with a bachelor’s degree, or 12–14 years of directly relevant experience, including heavy-industrial U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy-industrial U.S. construction and union-craft leadership.
• Supervision of union craft professionals and subcontractors.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and monitor cost and productivity.
• Strong coordination with Engineering, Construction, Quality, Procurement, and Logistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day mechanical construction execution across a large, heavy-industrial project site.
• Supervise, coach, and develop union craft professionals; ensure crews have tools, materials, access, and direction.
• Plan work activities, establish priorities, and monitor productivity, quality, schedule performance, and cost.
• Direct subcontractor work and verify compliance with contract requirements, drawings, specifications, and site procedures.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with Engineering, Construction, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, and other field disciplines.
• Resolve field issues, constructability constraints, work-front conflicts, and technical installation challenges quickly.
• Maintain a strong presence in the field and lead effective daily planning, job briefs, and progress reviews.
• Enforce OSHA, environmental, and project safety requirements; champion a zero-incident culture.
• Verify that mechanical installations meet approved drawings, quality requirements, and turnover expectations.
• Track manpower, equipment, materials, work packages, and subcontractor progress using standard project reporting tools.
• Build productive relationships with craft, subcontractors, project stakeholders, and the client team.
• Bring 8–10 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 12–14 years of directly relevant experience, including heavy-industrial U.S. construction and union-craft leadership.

Very High-impact lithium mine and processing facility will expand domestic lithium-carbonate production and support the growing EV and clean-energy supply chain.

As Mechanical Superintendent, you will lead field execution for mechanical construction activities—driving safe, productive, high-quality work from plan to completion. You’ll manage union craft professionals and subcontractors, coordinate with site leadership and engineering, and keep work aligned with drawings, specifications, schedule, and budget.

Project Details: Full-time, site-based role at Thacker Pass, Nevada. Camp accommodation, mobilization/demobilization, and home trips are provided. Schedule is 3 weeks on / 1 week off, approximately 57 hours per week, with a 10% project allowance and 10% project-completion incentive.
