Job summary

Jobot is seeking a mid-senior building design mechanical engineer with PE to lead design for large central plant projects. You will mentor teammates and drive design from concept through submittal, coordinating with Project Managers and other disciplines.

Responsibilities include heat/mass balance, energy analyses, and construction administration. Required: ME degree, PE, 7+ years, and Revit BIM proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with 7+ years in design and construction administration.
• Proficient in Building Information Modeling (BIM) with Revit.
• Experience in fieldwork and documenting existing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for large central plants (boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, piping, controls).
• Perform heat/mass balance, code compliance analysis, hydraulic/energy modeling, pipe stress analyses.
• Provide mentorship and technical direction to engineers and designers.
• Lead design tasks for project submittals including drawings, specs, estimates, and narratives.
• Collaborate with PMs, other disciplines, and external consultants; participate in construction administration.

We are a Full-Service Engineering company that specializes in providing design and engineering services for all aspects of building and utility infrastructure construction. Our retention rates are incredible and have extremely long term partnerships and client relationships.

Our York, PA team is looking for a mid-senior level Mechanical Engineer with experience in infrastructure design or MEP/building design. Ideal candidate has management experience or ready to lead their own team. PE license is highly preferred.

Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 per year

Job Details

• Design mechanical systems for large central cooling and heating plants, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, large bore piping, and control systems
• Perform engineering calculations such as heat and mass balance, code compliance analysis, hydraulic modeling, energy analysis, and pipe stress analysis
• Provide technical direction, guidance, and mentorship to team members, including mechanical engineers and designers
• Take initiative in completing design and analysis tasks for project submission packages, which include drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and design narratives
• Collaborate with project managers, team members, other disciplines, and external consultants to address design coordination and issues
• Participate in construction administration by attending meetings, reviewing shop drawings, conducting site visits, and documenting progress

Requirements

• Possess strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and customer service skills
• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer with over 7 years of experience in engineering design and construction administration
• Proficient in designing using Autodesk Revit for Building Information Modeling (BIM)
• Experienced in conducting fieldwork and documenting existing engineering conditions

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with institutional infrastructure systems
• Experience with ASME B31.1 Power Piping Code
