Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Designer to lead mechanical design efforts, coordinate with multi-discipline teams, and mentor junior engineers.

You will design HVAC systems, review submittals, and ensure code compliance while driving project success and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required for engineering discipline.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience; 8+ preferred.
  • PE license preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and mechanical system design.
  • Understanding of how MEP systems integrate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design and engineering efforts from concept through completion.
  • Design HVAC systems, perform system analysis, select equipment, and complete energy compliance documentation.
  • Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and technical work for quality and accuracy.
  • Interpret and apply local building codes, utility requirements, and client standards.
  • Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, BIM, and project management teams.
  • Serve as a technical resource for clients and mentor junior engineers.
  • Contribute to process improvements, technical development, and continuous learning.

Mechanical Engineer / Designer | Kansas City, MO

Join a collaborative and growing MEP engineering team as a Mechanical Engineer/Designer, where you’ll serve as a technical leader on exciting projects across commercial, retail, residential, education, and entertainment sectors. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex mechanical designs, mentor engineers, work directly with clients, and help shape the technical direction of the team.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead mechanical design and engineering efforts from concept through completion.
