Job summary

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support and lead new product development for electrical equipment, including control panels and switchboards.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on taking products from initial concept through design, prototyping, testing, and production. The ideal candidate is a creative and technically strong engineer who enjoys solving problems, working with 3D CAD, developing physical prototypes, and collaborating with manufacturing and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development for new products, including control panels and switchboards.
• Develop innovative design concepts using Creo, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software.
• Create multiple design concepts and perform trade-off studies to determine the best solution based on performance, cost, manufacturability, and project requirements.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles throughout the product development process.
• Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies.
• Plan and manage engineering projects, including scope, schedules, costs, milestones, and completion dates.
• Develop physical prototypes to evaluate design feasibility and performance.
• Create and execute test plans and use results to validate and improve product designs.
• Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and other cross-functional teams to move projects from concept through production.
• Create detailed part drawings, material BOMs, and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• 2-5 years of experience in new product development engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Creo or similar 3D modeling/CAD software.
• Strong working knowledge of:
• Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
• Design for Assembly (DFA)
• Product development and concept testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with control panel or switchboard design.
• Experience with bus bar design.
• Understanding of electrical schematics.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME).
• Experience taking products through the full development cycle from concept → design → prototype → testing → production.
