Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking a Design Engineer for a well-established manufacturer serving the electric power industry in Memphis, Tennessee.

You will design new product parts and assemblies, evaluate specifications, perform FEA and prototype testing, and support field sales with technical guidance to meet milestones and quality standards.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent degree.
• 2–5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or Pro/E).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, molding, machining, forming, extruding).

Responsibilities

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications.
• Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet requirements.
• Review and analyze proposed product changes.
• Perform feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations.
• Manage prototype development and testing.
• Facilitate creation and approval of Engineering drawing changes.
• Recommend and follow reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures.
• Write test reports for internal use and publication.
• Collaborate with engineering staff to meet milestones and timelines.
• Provide technical support for Field Sales personnel.

Job description

Our client is a well established and expanding manufacturer of products for the electric power industry--Due to growth they have an immediate need for a Design Engineer.

The Design Engineer's responsibility is to manage the design and development of new products for the electric utility market as well as manage engineering activities related to maintaining existing products.

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications
• Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet the technical and functional requirements
• Review and analysis of proposed product changes
• Perform feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations
• Manage prototype development and testing.

Qualifications

Requirements:
