Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a Design Engineer to lead the design and development of new products for the electric power industry and to support engineering activities related to maintaining existing products.

You will develop new part and assembly designs, perform FEA and calculations, manage prototypes, and create and approve engineering drawings while coordinating with a cross-functional team to meet milestones and deliver cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent engineering degree.
• 2-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or ProE).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, molding, machining, forming, extrusion).

Responsibilities

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications.
• Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet the technical and functional requirements.
• Review and analyze proposed product changes.
• Perform feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations.
• Manage prototype development and testing.
• Facilitate creation and approval of Engineering drawing changes.
• Recommend and follow reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures.
• Write test reports for internal use and publication.
• Work with other members of the engineering staff to meet project milestones and established timelines.
• Technical support for Field Sales personnel.

Our client is a well established and expanding manufacturer of products for the electric power industry--Due to growth they have an immediate need for a Design Engineer.

The Design Engineer's responsibility is to manage the design and development of new products for the electric utility market as well as manage engineering activities related to maintaining existing products.

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications
• Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet the technical and functional requirements
