Experience in chemical laboratory environments, surface preparation, analytical techniques, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE) is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for semiconductor equipment.
  • Develop 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, testing, prototyping, and design validation.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and support root cause investigations.
  • Apply engineering principles, GD&T, and manufacturing best practices to improve design performance.
  • Support laboratory testing, surface preparation, and analytical activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate technical findings, and contribute to design reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling, assemblies, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
  • Experience in a chemical laboratory environment, including surface preparation and analytical techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the semiconductor equipment industry, particularly etch or deposition.
  • Experience with Siemens NX, Creo, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
  • Knowledge of thermal or structural analysis, FEA, tolerance stack-up, and material properties.
  • Experience with robotics, temperature control systems, or power box design.

Additional Qualifications for Senior-Level Engineers (ME 3)

  • Experience independently leading complex mechanical design and development projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of thermal management, heat transfer, and mechanical/electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with vacuum systems, RF high-voltage applications, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong technical presentation skills and experience mentoring junior engineers.

This is an on-site position based in Fremont, California. Candidates must be able to work on-site Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
