In the role of Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Assume the mechanical lead and be the Mechanical and Plumbing Designer of Record (DOR) on small to mid-sized Projects through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project.
• Establish client relations, and participate in the marketing, design and production meetings with regard to mechanical systems.
• Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
• Coordinate workload to complete the documents on schedule.
• Conduct work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Review mechanical and plumbing documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
• Write and edit mechanical and plumbing specifications and select mechanical and plumbing equipment, systems, and devices.
• Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders, and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators, or Mechanical CAD/BIM Technicians as needed.
• Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering
• California Mechanical Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 12 months
• A minimum of 4 years' experience in mechanicaland plumbing system design for federal, commercial, and/or institutional facilities
• Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experience
• Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD,Revit, Trane Trace3D, or similar software
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
• Water/Wastewater, Technology, Federal facilities experience isa plus
• Project Management experience is aplus
• This role is intended to physically located in Folsom, CA or Walnut Creek, CA
• Preference given to local candidates.

• Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
• Experience in commercial or institutional facilities
• Computer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
