Job summary

Merrick & Company invites a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate or graduate student for a paid Summer 2027 Internship in our Los Alamos, NM office. The role focuses on real project work, including machine design, 3D CREO modeling, and drawings, with exposure to client interfaces and NQA-1 quality requirements.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an ABET‑accredited ME degree, will graduate after August 2027, and are US citizens.

Qualifications

• Must have graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible.
• Must be enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently in grad school.
• Must be pursuing Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• U.S. Citizenship required for client projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in detailed machine design and 3D modeling tasks using CREO.
• Create drawings and sizing for mechanical components and piping systems.
• Support HVAC/facilities design and construction activities.
• Collaborate with multiple disciplines and communicate with clients and contractors.
