Job summary

Hermeus is seeking talented students to join its Mechanical Team in Los Angeles as an internship. You will contribute to the design and integration of subsystems for cutting-edge aircraft, focusing on hydraulics, fuel systems, propulsion, and avionics.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering degrees, with a solid grasp of engineering fundamentals, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset. This paid internship runs 16 weeks in winter/spring.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in accredited college or university (Undergraduate or graduate).
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Structural design support for hydraulics, fuel systems, propulsion, and avionics.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses using hand calculations and FEA.
• Lead trade studies focusing on mass, cost and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams.
• Own hardware development from concept to test.
• Present technical content in reviews and cross-functional design reviews.
