Job summary

Hermeus, in Los Angeles, seeks talented students to join the Mechanical Team for internships focused on hydraulic, fuel, propulsion, avionics, and structural systems for cutting-edge supersonic aircraft. The program runs as Spring (16 weeks) and Summer (12 weeks) sessions, with an hourly rate of 25–33 USD.

Final compensation depends on degree level and is designed to provide hands-on, company-wide collaboration.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Mechanical, Aerospace, Thermal Fluids, or Structural Engineering degree.
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
• GPA 3.0 or above.

Responsibilities

• Structural design supporting vehicle subsystems such as hydraulics, fuel systems, propulsion, and avionics.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses using both hand calculations and FEA.
• Lead trade studies across mechanical, fluid, and avionics subsystems with an emphasis on mass efficiency, cost, and performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams to ensure designs are practical, producible, and aligned with program objectives.
• Own hardware development from concept through design, fabrication, integration, and test.
• Present technical content in internal reviews and represent the team in cross-functional and supplier/customer design reviews.
