Job summary

Hubbell-Electric-Heater-Co is seeking an engineer/designer to develop, design, model, and cost mechanical and electromechanical products. You will create solid models and drawings using SolidWorks, interpret complex drawings, and specify components to meet specifications while coordinating with Purchasing and Sales.

The role requires an AS in Mechanical Engineering or CAD cert with 5 years related experience, and proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or CAD certificate with 5 years related experience.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings and schematics.
Ability to evaluate customer proposals and determine design feasibility and cost.

Responsibilities

Create solid models and technical drawings for quoting and fabrication using CAD software (SolidWorks).
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and reports.
Specify components to meet engineering design and performance specifications; research and provide detailed specs for Purchasing.
Design and create electrical schematics; provide engineering guidance to Sales and Support staff.
Prepare and maintain bill of materials; estimate labor times for manufacturing.
Interact with customers and field technicians to facilitate troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
Draw up master schedule and plan fabrication sequence to meet shipping dates.
