Job summary

Boyd Thermal Solutions Inc. in Woburn, MA, seeks a Sr CAD Designer to create electro-mechanical systems in SolidWorks for liquid cooling products.

You will collaborate with refrigeration, mechanical, electrical and manufacturing engineers through concept, design, build and test, owning the design from spec to production support. You will handle sheet metal enclosure design, fittings, tubing, hardware and create detailed drawings and BOMs, driving cost, performance and schedule goals while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience designing sheet metal enclosures and hardware.
• Ability to manage assemblies up to 100 custom parts plus 800+ off-the-shelf components.

Responsibilities

• Develop a mechanical and electrical design in SolidWorks from rough sketches and customer drawings with minimal supervision.
• Create sheet metal enclosures and BOMs; design complex assemblies and drawings with proper tolerancing.
• Evaluate trade-offs between performance, cost and schedule; drive risk mitigation.
• Ensure manufacturability and serviceability of the enclosure and layout.
• Provide product support from concept through production and testing.
• Travel limited (under 5% per year).
