Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical EIT/Designer to contribute to the BES mechanical engineering team in the New England region. You will design HVAC and plumbing systems, participate in feasibility, schematic design, and construction documentation, and assist with equipment selection on diverse projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineers, adherence to codes, and hands-on site visits to verify conditions and support project delivery from inception to close-out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progression path.
• 1+ year experience in A/E consulting or internship is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems (HVAC and Plumbing) for commercial/institutional buildings.
• Support with design calculations, code compliance, and construction documents.
• Develop and refine design packages, drawings, and specifications.
• Assist with equipment sizing and selection discussions with manufacturers.
• Visit project sites to verify conditions and monitor progress.
