Job summary

HDR invites an Electrical EIT/Designer to join our Building Engineering Services in New England. You will help design electrical systems for new construction and renovations, including power, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and low‑voltage layouts.

You will produce precise construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD and collaborate with licensed engineers to ensure BIM coordination. You should have a Bachelor's in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with electrical emphasis and be

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • EIT certification or pursuit of EIT for career progression.
  • Strong computer skills with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.
  • Experience designing building electrical systems including normal and emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, grounding and low‑voltage systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for normal and emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and low‑voltage systems.
  • Prepare electrical designs for power distribution, lighting, emergency power and coordination.
  • Develop single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and system layouts.
  • Produce construction documents using Revit, AutoCAD and BIM standards; coordinate with project BIM models.
  • Perform electrical load analysis, voltage drop, short circuit calculations and equipment sizing.
  • Assist with energy efficiency evaluations and sustainability concepts; support project managers to meet schedule and budget.
