Job description

Overview

Our Mechanical EIT role contributes to this mission by supporting commercial and institutional projects, enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects.
  • Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices.
  • Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and mechanical equipment selections.
  • Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications and reports.
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more‑senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines.
  • Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring field inspections and conflict resolution.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commercial/Institutional experience in healthcare a plus.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Healthcare and Hospital design experience.
  • Comprehension of OSHPD/HCAI requirements.
  • Sciences, Laboratory and Cleanroom experience.
  • Proficiency in Trace 3D and IESVE.
  • 4+ years of experience with HVAC or plumbing.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
