Job summary

Actalent seeks a Mechanical Drafter in Algona, IA to create and modify 2D/3D drawings using SolidWorks and support engineering projects. You will prepare documentation, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and keep drawings and reports up to date. Onsite five days a week, with a contract-to-hire path and competitive hourly pay.

This role requires precise drafting, familiarity with ERP for inventory/work orders, and strong MS Office 365 skills. AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to create and modify detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models using SolidWorks. This role supports engineering and manufacturing projects, and involves collaborating with engineers and project managers to ensure drafting assignments are completed accurately and on schedule. The position also requires preparing, updating, and maintaining technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.

Essential Skills

• Experience with SolidWorks for mechanical drafting and 3D modeling.
• Familiarity with ERP Systems for inventory, material tracking, and work order creation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Background in mechanical drafting preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively within a smaller team, offering diverse product exposure.

This position requires working onsite five days a week in Algona. Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
