Job summary

Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division in Greenwood, SC, seeks a Mechanical Designer to contribute to the design and execution of medium‑voltage switchgear solutions at our manufacturing facility. The role focuses on CAD/PLM work, BOM creation, and collaboration across engineering and operations.

The position emphasizes NPD participation, prototyping, and driving cost reductions while ensuring compliance with standards and safety requirements. Up to 25% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or high school diploma with 3+ years of medium‑voltage switchgear experience.
• Sponsorship not available for this position.
• Travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and execution of medium‑voltage switchgear solutions.
• Develop 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and documentation using CAD/PLM systems.
• Collaborate with Front End Engineering and Customer Order Engineering teams to generate BOMs for customer orders at product launch.
• Support complex NPD engineering projects from concept through release.
• Participate in design reviews, testing, and validation activities.
• Build engineering prototypes to facilitate design reviews and product testing.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, sourcing, quality, manufacturing teams, and EESS to ensure successful project execution and product launch.
• Drive product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and engineering process enhancements.
• Support technology development, product architecture, and innovation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, quality systems, and safety requirements.
