Job summary

1st St NW Technical Staffing is seeking a Mechanical Designer II for a Plymouth, MN engineering firm. You will develop 3D models, assemblies and full system designs using SolidWorks, apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5, and support prototype testing.

Responsibilities include building and maintaining BOMs, participating in design reviews, and selecting fabrication tolerances for sheet metal and machine design. AA/AS degree with SolidWorks proficiency required; CSWP a plus.

Qualifications

• AA/AAS degree in Drafting, CAD, Engineering Technology.
• SolidWorks proficiency required.
• GD&T knowledge (ASME Y14.5) essential.
• Experience with sheet metal and machine design.
• Understanding of fabrication processes and shop practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models, assemblies and full system designs.
• Apply GD&T and select fabrication tolerances.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Support prototype testing.
• Build/maintain bills of materials (BOM).
