Job summary

MDS Staffing seeks an experienced Mechanical Designer/Drafter to develop detailed drawings using SolidWorks for sales, project management, and fabrication, ensuring accuracy to customer specs and timelines.

Responsibilities include validating specifications with the PM and sales team, obtaining vendor drawings for BOMs, preparing maintenance instructions, performing weekly order audits, and recording all design changes in the project folder.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school with one year related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to use CAD systems in the design of equipment.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and final mechanical drawings using SolidWorks based on quotes and specs.
• Verify specifications with Project Manager and sales staff.
• Request drawings from vendors for components and BOM.
• Create maintenance manuals and parts lists for equipment.
• Inspect finished products before shipment for quality.
• Enter design data into PDM per guidelines.
• Audit orders weekly with fabricators to discuss design challenges.
• Document design changes in the project folder.
