Job summary

1st St NW Technical Staffing is seeking a Solidworks Drafter/Designer for a contract-to-hire role in Minnesota. The candidate will produce detailed Solidworks models and drawings, establish CAD standards, and apply GD&T and fabrication practices to support engineering projects.

The position requires an AA/AAS in Drafting or related field, Solidworks proficiency, and experience with sheet metal design and BOM management. This is a short-term to permanent opportunity with a starting ASAP date.

Qualifications

• AA/AAS degree in Drafting, CAD, Engineering Technology required.
• Solidworks proficiency required.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required.
• Experience with sheet metal and machine design.
• Understanding of fabrication processes and shop practices.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed models and drawings using Solidworks.
• Establish/document CAD standards.
• Apply GD&T, sheet metal and machine design practices to support engineering projects.
• Support prototype testing.
• Build/maintain bills of materials (BOM).
