Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking a Mechanical Designer to advance HVAC and plumbing system design using Revit. You will develop three‑dimensional models and produce coordinated ductwork and piping layouts for small to mid-sized projects, under limited supervision from a senior engineer.

The role emphasizes building code compliance, design accuracy, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality construction documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of job-related experience.
• Proficient with Autodesk MEP Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
• Ability to design plumbing systems for small to medium projects with minimal guidance from a professional engineer.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems (VAV, VRF, packaged rooftop).
• Understanding of hydronic sizing, pump and duct sizing, and chillers/water systems.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to determine functional requirements and prepare design information and estimates.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to develop preliminary concepts and drawings.
• Review shop drawings for mechanical equipment during construction administration.
• Perform design research for complete systems.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections to verify installations meet design documents.
