Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Mechanical Designer for our client in Wilmington, NC. The role requires a STEM degree and 3–5 years of manufacturing design experience with AutoCAD and Inventor.

You will develop mechanical designs, produce detailed drawing packages, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost reductions and design improvements while adhering to drafting standards. This is a contract position with standard 8am–5pm hours and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• STEM degree required.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs and layouts using AutoCAD and Inventor in strict compliance with established drafting standards.
• Produce detailed drawing packages, build packages, machine part lists, and equipment specifications for production systems.
• Redesign mechanical components to proactively reduce installation costs, resolve equipment interferences, and correct deficiencies.
• Translate engineering solutions and electrical schematics into functional equipment design requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute critical design changes that address evolving process and project needs.
