Job Summary

A Mechanical Designer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the San Jose, CA area. The Mechanical Designer supports facility expansion and optimization by producing precise 2D CAD drawings, verifying field conditions, and coordinating with project teams to ensure accurate and efficient mechanical system design implementation.

Perform regular site visits to verify field conditions and ensure design alignment with project reports and specifications.
Coordinate with engineers, coordinators, and construction teams to ensure design and as-built documentation reflect project objectives.
Create and maintain accurate 2D drawing packages that meet site standards using AutoCAD.
Draft, update, and verify chemical/mechanical plans such as piping layout, equipment layout, schedules, and control schematics.
Draft detailed piping plans, including routing, valve/instrument placement, and equipment layouts.
Generate and revise Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Create flow diagrams for gas-side and water-side systems, including HVAC, Hydronics, and Fire Protection.
Add isometric views to enhance design clarity and field installation guidance.
Provide custom installation details for complex design elements.
