Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Omaha, NE is seeking a Mechanical Design Coordinator to coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects, perform routine assignments, write specifications, and use engineering software to develop HVAC loads and energy analyses.

You will prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design, work independently on small projects or with senior engineers, supervise Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate with architects and other disciplines, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
• Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
• Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices
• Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and mechanical equipment selections
• Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications and reports
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
• Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
• Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring field inspections and conflict resolution
• Perform other duties as needed

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering

Master's degree in Architectural Engineering (Mechanical emphasis)
