Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Design Coordinator in Omaha, NE. You will coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects and develop HVAC designs using industry software to support energy efficiency and sustainability.

The role includes drafting construction documents and collaborating with architects and other engineers on multi-discipline projects. Responsibilities include supervising CAD staff, handling specifications, and assisting in field inspections, with opportunities

Qualifications

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
Proficiency with HVAC design software and engineering tools.
Evidence of progressing toward EIT and active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

Coordinate mechanical aspects of commercial or institutional projects
Perform routine mechanical engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
Write and edit mechanical specifications, and select mechanical systems and devices
Utilize engineering software to develop HVAC loads, energy analysis and mechanical equipment selections
Prepare construction documents for HVAC and plumbing design of buildings, including drawings, specifications and reports
Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
Supervise work of Mechanical CAD Technicians, and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines
Take responsibility for construction contract administration requiring field inspections and conflict resolution
Perform other duties as needed
