Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern in the Mechanical Controls product line. You will join a team to evaluate hydraulic and pneumatic component requirements to generate compliant hardware designs for airframe and engine systems.

Parts are designed to operate in fluid environments and verified using CFD, with structural analysis via FEA. You will work with Project Engineering, Dynamic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Drafting, and Structures in an integrated

Qualifications

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM and actively enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
Must have a minimum of 45 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

Evaluate hydraulic and pneumatic component requirements to generate compliant hardware designs for airframe and engine systems.
Designs created using 1D physics-based models and verified with CFD; analyzed with FEA.
Collaborate within an integrated team including Project Engineering, Dynamic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Drafting, and Structures.
