RTX Collins Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern in the Winston-Salem, NC area to design components and assemblies with manufacturability and reliability in focus. You will release NX drawings, evaluate materials, and collaborate across teams to validate designs.
The role develops CAD proficiency, material evaluation, and cross-functional teamwork, while aligning with FAA-related aerospace testing and constraints.

As a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace, you will:
Qualifications You Must Have
Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session. Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Creo, SolidWorks, NX, Catia, AutoCAD, Autodesk or equivalent. Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and/or Outlook). Experience managing projects and working on cross‑functional teams. A minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co‑op session. Prior RTX internship, co‑op, or work experience.
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
