Job summary

RTX is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will assist senior engineers with digital and analog circuitry design, testing, and documentation across all hardware development phases.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, analysis, and collaboration in a fast-paced aerospace environment. Qualifications include pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and at least 60 credit hours by start.

Responsibilities

  • You will assist Senior Electrical Engineers in the design, development, support and documentation of digital and analog circuitry.
  • You will engage in all phases of electrical hardware design including requirements capture, design, layout, test/verification, integration, and factory support.
  • You will perform analog and digital electronics design and testing, and analyze electronic circuitry for components.

What YouWillDo:

As an Electrical Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace, you will assist Senior Electrical Engineers in the design, development, support and documentation associated with both digital and analog circuitry. You will lean into the opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills of all phases of electrical hardware design, including requirements capture, design, layout, test/verification, integration, factory transition, and factory support. You will do analog and digital electronics design and testing. You will work on component analysis and troubleshooting of electronic circuitry.

  • Electrical Engineers at Collins Aerospace perform activities that span all phases of the hardware development lifecycle, including requirements capture, design, integration, verification, factory transition, and customer interface.

Qualifications you must have:
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship

  • Must have a minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.

QualificationsWePrefer:
  • Experience working with digital circuit design parameters (e.g., throughput, rise time, clock frequencies, propagation delay).

  • Experience working with computer hardware components (e.g., processors, memory, interfaces), and characteristics (throughput, processing architecture, timing).

  • Relocation Eligibility

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
