Job summary

Global Power Components in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast-paced team focused on the design of tanks and enclosures. The role involves close collaboration with engineering and production to deliver quality, on-time releases and continuous improvements on the shop floor.

You will own design tasks from concept through implementation, work within a 90% design / 10% other project mix, and contribute to manufacturing productivity improvements while maintaining

Qualifications

• Must have solid understanding of SolidWorks; tests may be required.
• Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with PDM is a plus.
• Experience with sheet-metal and weldment design is desired.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and shop floor realities.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout work for quotes, orders, and manufacturing projects.
• Identify issues, develop corrective actions, and implement solutions.
• Collaborate within a team and own assigned tasks from concept to completion.
• Ensure designs meet shop capabilities and reflect in drawings.
• Coordinate with planning, quality, purchasing, and assembly to optimize production.
