Job description

We are seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers – Mechanical Design to support switchgear manufacturing operations at our Henrico, VA facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, sheet metal, and switchgear systems, with hands‑on experience using AutoCAD and working to UL891 standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for switchgear systems
• Create and modify 2D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD
• Support manufacturing processes with design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM) considerations
• Work with sheet metal designs, including enclosures, panels, and structural components
• Ensure designs comply with UL891 and other applicable industry standards
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and production
• Review and update engineering documentation, BOMs, and drawings
• Provide engineering support during production, testing, and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Hands‑on experience with switchgear design
• Solid knowledge of UL891 standards
• Experience with sheet metal mechanical design
• Manufacturing or industrial engineering experience preferred
