Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the design and development of customized switchgear and fabricated products. You will prepare manufacturing drawings, develop 3D models, and conduct design reviews in a fast NPD environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with project teams, tracking BOM changes, and ensuring timely, accurate engineering documentation. The role requires strong GD&T knowledge, CAD proficiency, and excellent communication in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years in a Design Engineering role, preferably switchgear or custom fabrication.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks PDM.
• Understanding of GD&T and drafting standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation from project specs and schedules.
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Conduct design reviews per Design Control Plans.
• Coordinate with Design/Project Managers to resolve discrepancies.
• Track BOM changes and ensure on-time delivery of accurate docs.
• Ensure deliverables meet schedules and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution.
• Maintain compliance with HSE policies and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement within the engineering process.
