Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
  • Active development of mechanical design engineering principles and industry practices.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and tolerance analysis.
  • Minimum 5 years of Creo experience and ability to generate drawings and specs.
  • Ability to lead major projects and engage with senior personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Create CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, and assemblies.
  • Build BOMs and manage parts within Windchill PLM.
  • Coordinate with IPT, suppliers, and analysts to ensure design excellence.
  • Manage drawing releases, CR responses, CNs, and design reviews.
  • Perform design trade studies on cost, weight, and performance.

You will be the Mechanical Engineering Design Staff supporting development and production of sensors and missile systems.

You will be the Mechanical Engineering Design Staff supporting development and production of sensors and missile systems.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Mechanical Engineering Designer Staff, you will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
  • Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
  • Coordinating the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence
  • Managing drawing releases, responding to CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews
  • Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in an Engineering related field

Active development of new mechanical design engineering principles and full demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and related disciplines

Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and demonstrated perform complex system-level tolerance analysis.

Minimum 5 years experience with Creo or similar 3D computer-aided design software

Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications

Have the ability to guide major projects to completion and engage with senior personnel on significant matters

Have the ability to lead investigative efforts and report status to senior personnel

Desired Skills

Hands‑on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3‑D printers, test rigs)

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD).

Experience with aerospace hardware such as structures, optical or radio frequency (RF) sensors, energetics, propulsion, or flight control systems.

Comprehensive understanding of aerospace systems lifecycle from proposal and capture efforts, development, transition to production, production, and sustainment.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

Benefits offered:
  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
