Job summary

SES (Steel Equipment Specialists) in Alliance, Ohio is seeking a full-time hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop mechanical systems for metals processing, lead projects from concept through release, and produce detailed 2D/3D drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of machine design experience in the metals industry, strong teamwork and communication skills, and a track record of delivering cost-effective, reliable equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or substantial work experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in machine design
• Experience in metals industry / heavy equipment preferred
• Experience with 2D/3D drawings using Inventor or AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for metals processing
• Lead mechanical system design from concept through release
• Create detailed 2D/3D drawings using Inventor and AutoCAD
• Manage BOMs and specify components/materials
• Collaborate with engineering teams to meet project goals
• Optimize designs for cost, reliability, and manufacturability
• Produce multiple project designs while maintaining quality
