SES (Steel Equipment Specialists) in Alliance, Ohio is seeking a full-time hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop custom mechanical systems for metals industries, leading projects from concept through release.

You will produce 2D and 3D drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, specify components and BOMs, collaborate with engineering teams, and optimize designs for efficiency, reliability, manufacturability and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; substantial experience may replace degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in machine design, preferably in metals/heavy equipment.
• This is an in-person opening in Alliance, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom mechanical systems for metals forming.
• Lead design from concept through release per client specs.
• Create 2D/3D drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Specify components and manage BOM accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to meet requirements.
• Optimize designs for efficiency, reliability, and cost.
• Manage multiple projects with high quality.
• Collaborate in a team-oriented environment; communicate effectively.
• Perform basic machinery design calculations.
• Background in steel mill equipment and related processes is beneficial.
• Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical control systems is a plus.
