Job summary

Alamo Group's Royal Truck division is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Designer to draft, modify, and optimize machinery drawings using SolidWorks, while updating BOMs and part numbers for manufacturing needs.

Candidates should have an Associate degree in mechanical engineering or drafting and at least 1 year of design experience in manufacturing or heavy industry; welding symbols familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and SolidWorks.
• Associate degree in mechanical engineering or drafting preferred.
• Minimum 1 year design/drafting experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Familiarity with welding symbols; machining knowledge is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Draft changes to machinery drawings using 3D CAD for manufacturing.
• Update BOMs and assign new part numbers as needed.
• Examine defective parts to determine material changes and solutions.
• Set up BOMs for revised drawings and print related reports.
• Coordinate Engineering software, PDM and MRP updates and troubleshoot.
• Respond to sales/parts requests regarding engineering drawings.
