True North Consultants, Inc. seeks a Design Engineer in Memphis to lead design and development of new products for the electric power industry. You will manage engineering activities for existing products, delivering drawings, specs, and design changes.

Ideal candidates have 2-5 years in manufacturing engineering, proficiency with SolidWorks or ProE, and a solid grasp of manufacturing processes. This role requires collaboration across teams to meet milestones and project timelines.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficient with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or ProE).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, molding, machining, forming, extruding, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications.
• Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet technical and functional requirements.
• Review and analysis of proposed product changes.
• Perform feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations.
• Manage prototype development and testing.
• Facilitate creation and approval of Engineering drawing changes.
• Recommend and follow reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures.
• Write test reports for internal use and publication.
• Work with engineering staff to meet milestones and timelines.
• Provide technical support for Field Sales personnel.
