Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a Design Engineer for a well established manufacturer serving the electric power industry. The role focuses on design and development of new products for the electric utility market and supports sustaining engineering for existing products.

Responsibilities include creating new part and assembly designs with drawings, evaluating specifications, conducting feasibility and FEA, prototyping, and providing technical support to field sales.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent required.
• 2-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or ProE).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, molding, machining, forming, extrusion).

Responsibilities

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications
• Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet the technical and functional requirements
• Review and analysis of proposed product changes
• Perform feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations
• Manage prototype development and testing.
• Facilitate creation and approval of Engineering drawing changes
• Recommend and follow reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures
• Write test reports for both internal use and for publication
• Work with other members of the engineering staff to ensure project milestones are met and that projects are completed according to established timelines
• Technical support for Field Sales personnel
