Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Anderson, SC to design mechanical components for Switchboard/Switchgear within LV power distribution for data centers. You will develop 3D CAD models, create BOMs, and release drawings in PLM while guiding suppliers and cross‑functional teams.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Engineering degree with 3+ years (or an Associate’s with 7+ years) and proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo, plus MS Office and schematic interpretation. Travel is <10% and work is onsite in Anderson.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in product development.
• Experience with 3D CAD design and SolidWorks/Creo.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and familiarity with components (fuses, breakers, transformers).
• MBD experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept and detailed design of power systems using sheet metal, busbar, cabling, and harnesses.
• Create complex drawings and BOMs; produce 2D drawings or MB Design outputs.
• Collaborate with other Mechanical Engineers to optimize solutions.
• Release changes in PLM using revision control.
• Coordinate with simulation team for seismic, CFD, and thermal analyses.
• Support prototype builds and communicate with vendors as needed.
• Ensure compliance with UL, NEC, IEC standards.
