Job summary

Rite-Hite seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical product development from concept through production release, developing designs, BOMs, and verification plans.

You will create 3D models, drawings, and documentation, collaborate with engineering, product management, and suppliers, and support cost reduction and manufacturability improvements. Coordinate prototypes and validation testing to bring products to market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of mechanical design, product development, manufacturing engineering, or related experience.
• Experience developing mechanical products from concept through production release.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and engineering drawing software; SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical product development from concept to production release.
• Develop detailed mechanical designs, component specifications, and verification plans.
• Create and revise 3D models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and specs.
• Develop and execute validation and production test plans, including outdoor testing when required.
• Analyze test results, identify failure modes, and implement design improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Operations, Procurement, Sales, Service, customers, and suppliers.
• Support supplier transitions, tooling, and production component qualification.
• Mentor associates and improve engineering practices to shorten timelines.
