Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Torrance, CA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer I to design, analyze, and integrate complex thermal management systems for aerospace applications. You will model, validate, and optimize system performance, supporting air transport and military programs while reporting to the Mechanical Design Engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Engineering Physics, or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering fields.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• 0 - 2 years of experience in mechanical, chemical, or related engineering fields.
• Advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related technical field with emphasis on thermal management system modeling and analysis, in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine ECS performance models and simulations for air and vapor cycle systems, including validation and verification of system level steady state requirements.
• Conduct thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics analyses to optimize system performance.
• Definition of system and equipment level key performance and generation/ validation of associated requirements.
• Creation and maintenance of system level steady state models including run time performance optimization, model validation against component and system test data, and generation of model documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate hardware and software components effectively
• Perform system validation, verification, and testing to ensure compliance with specifications
