Job summary

Husky Technologies in Milton, Vermont seeks a HRC Design Engineer to contribute to the development of new products and technologies in a growing business. You will design hot runner, heater and controller products, applying mechanical engineering expertise to create concepts and validate them through analyses and testing.

The role requires a university degree in mechanical engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, with knowledge of injection molded plastics and hot runner design.

Qualifications

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.A.Sc. and/or M.Sc.).
• 5 years mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering experience.
• Knowledge of injection molded plastics processing required; hot runner design background desired.
• Experience as a project lead preferred.

Responsibilities

• Convert product definition into concept and design for hot runner, heater, and controller products.
• Conduct and review analyses (stress, thermal, fluid flow, reliability, FMEA, testing).
• Develop test models and equipment for verification and validation.
• Create and manage development project plans and budgets end-to-end.
• Communicate project status, risks and design rationale to stakeholders.
• Work independently or in teams to advance new technologies in plastics.
