Job summary

Wabtec is seeking an Engineer to review mechanical drawings, perform code calculations, and assist with BOM and procurement duties. The role supports the Heat Transfer and Energy Solutions Group and partners with the Project Engineering Manager to deliver world-class products.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, 4+ years of mechanical experience, and familiarity with ASME BPVC, welded design, and FEA/CFD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or similar.
• 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with welded design.
• ASME BPVC calculation experience.
• Experience with Mechanical Drawings interpretations and calculations to required codes.
• FEA and CFD experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical manuals and diagrams and standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with BOM and Procurements Preferred.
• Heat Exchanger or similar Mechanical Plant Equipment Experience Preferred.
• Experience with Equipment Startups and Installs in Manufacturing Settings is a plus.
• Willingness to Travel up to 10% each year.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing drawings and performing code calculations.
• Assist with BOM and procurement duties.
• General engineering activities including reviewing mechanical drawings and updating job information.
• Maintain organization and technical accuracy in manufacturing settings.
• Adhere to PPE and OSHA requirements while in manufacturing areas.
