Job summary

Leoforce in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to own the full design lifecycle—from concept through production release. You’ll build 3D models in SolidWorks, draft shop drawings, and design with manufacturing in mind.

Work closely with engineering, sales, and manufacturing to deliver customer-driven solutions. A Bachelor’s in Engineering and 5+ years in manufacturing are required; salary ranges from $80,000 to $95,000 per year with strong ESOP and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related) preferred.
• Around 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on, collaborative mindset across teams to solve problems.
• SolidWorks experience; background designing for manufacturing, especially sheet metal and fabrication.
• Understanding of BOMs, ERP systems, and manufacturing workflows; AutoCAD/CNC familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the full design lifecycle—from concept through production release.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and shop drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design with real manufacturing capabilities in mind (sheet metal, CNC, fabrication).
• Build clean, accurate BOMs and maintain part numbers across assemblies.
• Partner with sales and product teams to bring customer-driven designs to life.
• Support production, manufacturing, and field teams with design updates and troubleshooting.
• Run simulations, calculations, and failure analysis to ensure reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement through design changes, ECNs, and process enhancements.
