About the Role:

Join a manufacturing group focused on designing and estimating custom conveyor systems for customers across multiple industries. You’ll take Requests for Quotes (RFQs) from concept through detailed estimates and engineered drawings, collaborating closely with sales, purchasing, and plant leadership. If you enjoy solving mechanical challenges, working with CAD tools, and owning cost breakdowns from end to end, this is a strong opportunity to make an impact.

Responsibilities

• Receive RFQs and develop accurate cost estimates
• Create and update 2D/3D drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Illustrator)
• Perform material take‑offs and analyze labor, equipment, and machining requirements
• Interface with Purchasing for pricing and vendor input
• Compile organized estimates and present numerical and descriptive data
• Prepare reporting and documentation as needed
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and management to meet customer objectives
• Work primarily on‑site at the corporate engineering office in the Pittsburgh area
• Travel periodically to nearby manufacturing sites for training, ramp‑up, and project support
• Support occasional visits to additional regional facilities as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years mechanical design experience
• 3+ years estimating experience
• 2–5 years CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Illustrator, etc.)
• Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tolerances
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
• Experience with Ross ERP or Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a plus
