Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Hamilton, OH is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and test electronic and embedded systems using CAD tools. You will participate in NPD activities, analyze requirements, and contribute to board and system level validation.

The role emphasizes collaboration with mechanical and software engineers, cross-functional teams, and suppliers to deliver reliable, cost-effective products while meeting regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Proficiency in CAD Software such as AutoDesk Inventor, Solid Works, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills in documenting design, testing, and validation processes.
  • Experience with test equipment and measurement methodologies for electrical systems.
  • Experience with designing and testing for regulatory requirements (UL, CSA, FCC, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in New Product Development (NPD) teams to deliver new products with a high degree of complexity; including requirements analysis and system design.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation (at board and system level) for new and existing products.
  • Design and evaluate products, parts, and processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute design modifications to improve the quality and function of the products.
  • Interact with mechanical and software engineers, sales, and production, as well as with vendors and board houses.
