Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Ohio is seeking a Design Engineer to develop electrical connector and enclosure designs for utility power applications. You’ll bring concepts to life using CAD, simulation, and prototyping tools, and create test plans to validate and improve designs.

You’ll collaborate with marketing, manufacturing, and sourcing teams on product development, perform testing, and implement design modifications to boost quality, reliability, and cost efficiency while meeting regulatory

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
  • Experience designing, testing, and validating electronics-based products.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods including casting, extrusion, stamping, forming, and machining.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in New Product Development (NPD) teams to deliver new products with a high degree of complexity, including requirements analysis and system design.
  • Design, develop, test, and validate product designs.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation for new and existing products.
  • Design and evaluate products, parts, and processes for cost efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute design modifications to improve quality and function of products.
  • Interact with marketing, sales, production, and with vendors on product development.
